Kids like Animals.  It's not a secret.  You don't have to wait for a Summer Reading Program why not use Animals to create art projects anytime of year!

Animals can be created in a variety of media.

Invite a local artist or art student into the library to create directed drawing exercises.

Contact your local animal shelter and set up an Adopt a Pet awareness program at your library.  Ask for a photo of one of the adoptable pets and have a drawing contest where everyone is a winner.  Invite a local artist to give a drawing class and hang and sell artworks to fund your favorite pet shelter.
