Week 1-Summary

This week we took a look at the many resources available in the classroom and the definition of art as it relates to the K-6 teacher.  The many purposes or functions of art were included in the lecture.  We also looked at the challenges lack of funding and attitudes toward art present,  and how to deal with those realities.  Suggestions for working with children were outlined, and the ideal supply list and storage solutions were discussed.  Finally we looked at the basic language of art through the elements of composition.  Remember to visit all links in the classroom and post to the discussion board.

Week 2-Preview

We will be looking at Art Standards and how to practically meet them through age appropriate art lessons and cross curriculum planning.
