Christmas Hand Quilt
People in the United States Celebrate
Christmas and their own unique Holidays in a variety of ways. Create
a classroom quilt that illustrate the many unique customs of your students.
First trace each child's hand onto a sheet of white construction paper.
The hands can be a variety of colors. The white background will be
the border where children can draw, color, or paint their own unique symbols
of Christmas. Ask them to create images that remind them of Christmas,
Hannahka, New Year's or their unique holiday. They might want to draw
what they want to give someone at Christmas, or images from a cartoon special
they saw, or what their holidays means to them. You might ask younger
children to create the colors of Christmas etc. Hang each of the
sheets together to create a classroom quilt.
