Robots Crafts for Children and Teens

Start to look at throw away objects in your world in a new way.

It's not throw away material, there is a robot hiding in your packaging.

Use scissors to cut away the image, add accessories and paint and voila, a robot.

Packaging Carton Robot

Water/Soda Bottle Bobble Head Robot

For this Robust Robot you will need:

Empty Soda or Water Bottle

Small Planter Cup (plastic or paper)

Paint and Brushes

Aluminum Foil

Bits and Pieces-Bottle caps, buttons, and objects appropriate for the age group.

You will also need tacky glue, I prefer Aleene's .

The planter or "head" of the robot is not glued but lays on top of the bottle. Move the bottle to get a bobble head effect.

Construction Paper Robot

It's easy to create fun Robots using just scissors, construction paper, glue, and a paper bag (white works best.)

You can make the above robot with 2 sheets of black construction paper and one piece of white.  Cover the flap of the white paper bag with the "face" of the robot, and let children use their imaginations to create legs and body. Fold strips of construction paper to give the robot movement and bounce.

Take a look at this video for inspiration.  Be sure to use Tacky Glue, you will find it where all craft supplies are sold rather than a glue gun with children's groups (and even tween and teen groups ;-)
