Mood

  Set aside your letter (or description of the painting) and answer the following questions about the painting.

1.What is the overall mood or feeling that the painting inspires in you as you first look at the painting?
 
2.  Does it make you curious?  About what?  Is there a sense of joy and play-people having fun in the painting? Where do you think the people are at?  What time in history do you think it is?
 

Remember what your initial reaction to the painting was as you explore the elements of composition-LINE, TEXTURE, SPACE, COLOR and SHAPE.
