Group Turkey Project
November is a wonderful time to talk about family traditions and the unique differences in our culture. This project uses a variety of colors and the hands of all class members to create a unique turkey art project.

You will need:
Construction Paper
Scissors (Use Safety Scissors for Young Children)
Glue
Marker
Instructions
Students will love the first step. You are going to be the first participate. That's right, the teacher! Wear flats today if you are a woman because you will be taking your shoe off and tracing it. You will need 2 of these. You will also need a tracing of everyone's hand-including yours. Draw it onto various colored construction paper. Use people colors along with turkey colors. Next, glue the feet patterns you made from your shoes together. Create the head and body of the turkey. Next, using the patterns as a guide give your turkey feet, a hat, and a gobbler. Glue the eyes. Turn the turkey over and glue the hands. Overlap (5) to create a full feathered turkey. Students can include names, or things that the students individual thankful thoughts prior to the "feathers" being applied.
